Edward (Ted) Parent

Edward (Ted) Parent

President

President of Hurland Services Ltd. having joined the company in 1997. From both a field and management perspective, Mr. Parent’s experience in public consultation, regulatory compliance and surface acquisition is extensive. As a senior land agent, Mr. Parent takes a leading role in the successful negotiation of surface rights acquisitions for a wide range of energy development applications in Western Canada. He has particular expertise in the Alberta Energy Regulator D056 and D060 public consultation processes. Mr. Parent is a Past President of the Alberta Association of Surface Land Agents (AASLA) and held all executive positions within the Association. In addition, Mr. Parent served as the Associations representative on the CAPL Professional Development Committee, assisting with the development of the current Professional Surface Landman (PSL) designation. Prior to joining Hurland Services Ltd., Mr. Parent worked in a field-inspector capacity for Reid Crowther and Partners Ltd.

Vice President of Hurland Services Ltd. having joined the company in 2008. Appointed Vice President in 2015, Mr. Sexsmith is active in surface rights negotiations and public consultation programs that fall under the jurisdiction of both Alberta Energy Regulator and Alberta Utilities Commission. Mr. Sexsmith is also focused on building and maintaining valuable client relationships for Hurland Services Ltd. As Director of Marketing and Business Development, Mr. Sexsmith is continually seeking out industry opportunities of Hurland Services Ltd. and following through on the execution of the client’s expectations. Mr. Sexsmith is a past President (2015-2016) of the Alberta Association of Surface Land Agents (AASLA) and has held all executive positions within the Association. Prior to joining Hurland Services Ltd., Mr. Sexsmith worked with EnCana.

Bradley Cholin

Joined Hurland Services Ltd. in March 2003. His role as a Senior Land Agent with Hurland Services Ltd. included negotiation and consultation, coordination of well site and pipeline routing and survey operations, as well as negotiation of all Surface Rights documentation. In 2006, Mr. Cholin was assigned the role of Project Coordinator. His current role includes coordination of Surface Land Agents and acquisitions, ensuring that client time constraints are met. With over 25 years experience as a Land Agent and Surface Rights Negotiations across Western Canada, and his extensive education, Mr. Cholin is a valuable member of the Hurland Services Team.

His role as a Senior Land Agent with Hurland Services Ltd. included negotiation and consultation, coordination of well site and pipeline routing and survey operations, as well as negotiation of all Surface Rights documentation. In 2015, Mr. Huybregts was assigned the role of Project Coordinator. His current role includes coordination of Surface Land Agents and acquisitions, ensuring that client time constraints are met. Mr. Huybregts is a past President (2010-2011 and 2011-2012) of the Alberta Association of Surface Land Agents (AASLA) and has held all executive positions within the Association. With over 13 years experience as a Land Agent and Surface Rights Negotiations across Western Canada, Mr. Huybregts is a valuable member of the Hurland Services Team.

Allison Lever

Allison Lever

Office and Administration Manager

Joined Hurland Services Ltd. in March 2003. Mrs. Lever’s role as Project Coordinator / Senior Administrator included document preparation and coordinating the acquisition of freehold and crown lands in accordance with AER D056 regulations.  In January 2020, with 17 years experience in the industry, Mrs. Lever was assigned the role of Administration Manager.  Mrs. Lever is responsible for training and mentoring Administrators, and continues to create and streamline procedures and coordinates projects for several major clients.

Sherrie Blake

Sherrie Blake

Bookkeeper / Office Administrator

Joined Hurland Services Ltd.  as bookkeeper in April of 2017.  She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario.  Previously, Sherrie held a position as Director of Finance and Operations for the Graduate Student’s Association at the U of A . Sherrie has and does own her own  business doing bookkeeping  and personal and corporate taxes.  Sherrie does all facets of the financial record keeping for the company as well as some HR.
